Making Your Words The Best They Can Be
I call myself a stylistic editor because, from what my clients tell me, I don't really fit a mold. I check for grammatical and spelling errors, but also smooth out your words to make them more "readable" all while watching for plot holes. While making your words better, I make sure to keep your style.
I Am A Rule Breaker
I'm a firm believer that it is not so important for your book to be perfect in a grammatical way. What I believe is important is that your book be perfect in your way, in your voice, in your style. Each writer is an individual and, like individuals, each has their own style. Look at Dr. Seuss. He certainly was not grammatically correct and yet, you knew his style within the first sentence. How about Stephen King? His style is unlike any other. I will not lump you in with others. I want your style to shine and I'm not afraid to break a few rules to see that it does!
How It Is Done
I make edits in MS Word using Track Changes. When I am done with the first edits, I email the manuscript back to you for you to accept/reject each suggestion. It then gets emailed to me to do a second pass through to check for anything we may have missed.
AND NOW I’m including one free blurb with each edit. I’ve heard from many authors (and experienced this with my own works) how hard it is to condense our work into a short blurb. I think sometimes we’re too close to the project. So now, I’ll do it for you.
I, too, am a writer so I know the importance of having a good relationship with your editor. I will work with you to accommodate any special needs you have whenever possible.
In order to serve you the best I can, I will be taking a limited number of projects each month.
Pricing
Pricing is set at .005 (1/2 cent) per word. This is in US dollars paid through PayPal unless other arrangements are made ahead of time.
Examples:
1,000 words = $5.00
10,000 words = $50.00
50,000 words = $250.00
100,000 words = $500.00 ETC.
Your manuscript will be returned to you in a timely agreed-upon manner. There may be an additional charge for a rush job. This will be determined before the work is started.
A deposit of 1/4 down may be required before work begins for anything above $100.00.
Anything $100 or below may be required in full before work begins.
BLOGS

As you can see, pricing for blogs is the same as manuscripts. However, if it is a weekly or biweekly blog, we can set up a monthly invoice arrangement.
